Dr. Nkiru Ezeani DNP, CRNP, APRN, ANP-BC
Founding President
Dr. Nikki Ezeani is the founder of National Association of Nigerian Nurse Practitioners USA- DMV (NANNPU-DMV). She is the CEO/Owner of Lomack Primary Care, Inc – a neighborhood nurse practitioner clinic focused on internal medicine practice with emphasis on health promotion, disease prevention, and medical management. She has authored/co-authored many research projects on diabetes, obesity, prostate cancer, hormone replacement therapy, and heart disease among women. Her recent research publication on “Guideline Use in Asthma Management for Primary Care Providers”; has over a thousand downloads.
With over 23 years of outstanding clinical experience, Dr. Ezeani has worked in different healthcare settings: acute care, skilled nursing, Rehabilitation centers, dialysis centers, Ventilation-dependent center, and long-term care. She is an active member of Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM), and currently sits on the legislative board. She worked diligently with NPAM leaders & other legislative members to gain Nurse Practitioner Full Practice Authority Act of 2015 SB723/HB 999 signed by Governor Larry Hogan.
She serves as a mentor for new certified nurse practitioners under Maryland board of nursing as a requirement for new NP applicants for certification after the FPA legislation repealed the attestation. Also, a preceptor for student NP members of NPAM and NANNPU-DMV. Dr. Ezeani’s vision for NANNPU-DMV is to increase visibility and credibility of Nigerian Nurse Practitioners within the healthcare community, at both the national and state levels of government, and with consumers throughout Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia.

Rita Ntosi DNP, MSN, CRNP, FNP-BC, CWS

Dr. Ntosi is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with over 30-year experience as a registered nurse and over 13-year experience as a family nurse practitioner. She obtained her doctoral degree in nursing practice from Chatham University, Pittsburgh, PA, and MSN from Marymount University, Arlington, Virginia. She began her nursing career in 1984 in Benin, Nigeria, where she obtained her associate degree in Nursing. She proceeded to the Midwifery School at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus and was certified as a Midwife by the Nigerian Nursing and Midwifery Council in 1987.
She has practiced in various settings including acute care, home health, public health, nursing education and now in long term care where she continues to impact on the lives of her patients, through delivery of evidenced-based quality patient care. Her professional interest includes health promotion, advanced care planning, wound care and education, with emphasis on mentoring new nurses/nurse practitioners and precepting MSN/DNP students.
Her recent research publication is on “The Effect of Advance Care Planning in Reducing Rehospitalization rates in Patients with Congestive Heart Failure”. She also authored a chapter in a book and presents at both national and local nurse practitioners’ conferences. She is a certified wound specialist who is vast in various wound care management modalities. She is also a clinical faculty associate at University of Maryland School of Nursing, Baltimore, Maryland.
She maintains active membership with various professional organizations. She served as a board member with the Association of Nigerian Nurse Practitioners in North America (ANNPNA) until 2023 when she became the national president of the organization. Her other professional organizations membership includes, Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM), Association of American Nurse Practitioners (AANP) just to name a few. She has received various leadership awards including “The Compassionate Caregiver of the Year”. She also owns and runs a House Call practice. Cran Integrated Medical Care in Maryland and a founding partner of Nurse Practitioner Mentoring and Consulting Services (NPMACS).
