Position Description

TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist with upcoming Emergency Department coverage. This locum role offers flexible scheduling, a collaborative team environment, and the opportunity to work in a supportive community-based hospital setting.
New providers must be available for a brief orientation the day prior to their first scheduled shift. Coverage is needed as soon as credentialing is complete.

Ongoing additional Shifts Available

Position Details
Inpatient only – candidates must have Emergency Department inpatient experience within the last 12 months
Established team of physicians and APPs providing 24/7 coverage
Average inpatient census: ~20 patients
No ICU or critical care duties
Provider responsible for responding to codes
Specialty consultation available (general surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, telestroke)
Transfers supported by ground and air services
System-wide EMR: EPIC
No call responsibilities
Facility Snapshot
21-bed hospital
18 acute care medical-surgical beds, 2 labor/delivery/recovery beds, 1 level II nursery bed
3 operating rooms plus a designated C-section suite
24-hour Emergency Department and laboratory availability
On-site anesthesiologist and radiology coverage

Requirements
Active and unrestricted North Carolina license with NC DEA
BLS, ACLS, and PALS/APLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
Must be comfortable with ED coverage and inpatient responsibilities
Minimum of 12 months recent ED inpatient experience required
